Amrita Australia’s mission as a public benevolent institution is to provide relief to persons, within Australia and overseas who are unable to care for themselves or who suffer from poverty, sickness, destitution and helplessness.
Since the start of the pandemic, Amma’s Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (Amrita Hospital) located in Kochi, India, has played a key role in Covid-19 relief efforts. It has provided free care to Covid-19 patients, led the vaccination drive for healthcare workers in Kerala, and operated a mental health hotline for people who are experiencing anxiety and depression due to the pandemic.
Nevertheless, India’s recent second wave of Covid-19 has been devastating with many lives lost and the increasing need for global support is urgent!
Therefore, Amma Australia has launched the Covid-19 Relief to India appeal. All funds will support Amrita Hospital to continue providing medical and related care to affected victims.
