Say G’day to the CWA!

Part of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) Northumberland Group, the CWA Hornsby & District Branch encompasses the best of both worlds. Located at the Northern-most point of Sydney suburbs, we function in a busy metropolitan hub whilst still enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding national parks and bushland. This setting brings together many nationalities and cultures which provides for a very diverse membership base.

The CWA is the largest women’s organisation in Australia, all working with the common aim to improve conditions for country women and children. We reach that aim in various ways including lobbying for change, creating a network of support and helping in local community.

Sharing knowledge and teaching new skills, such as baking, jam-making, handicraft and more to ladies who have never had the opportunity to engage in this type of activity, whilst participating in everything CWA has to offer, is a win-win for all involved.

Catering is a large fundraising component which enables us to support many needy causes, both regionally and nationally. Our members also bake, sew, knit and crochet to raise money for Australian Disaster Relief, medical research projects, and local community charities.

CWA Hornsby Branch meets at the St Peters Anglican Church Hall, 207 Peats Ferry Rd, Hornsby. Visitors are always welcome, so please consider joining us for a cuppa, slice and a chat on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month at 9.30am.
